Youth Programs - Youth Fishing Derby 2021
Post 6 helped sponsor the 32nd Annual Grand Forks AFB Outdoor Recreation Fishing Derby on Saturday 5 June. This event was the best turnout of GFAFB kids, some 62 registered, in quite a while. The Derby ran from 0945 until 1200. Many fish were caught and this added to the excitement for these younger ones ... oh, and their parents too. The largest was a huge Croppie weighing in at 1 lbs. After the Derby, everyone enjoyed a hot dog lunch, potato chips and birthday cake and ice cream. A very hot and beautiful day at the reservoir. Also pictured were the legionnaires at the ready for weigh in and documentation of the catch. Others were resigned to just cutting bait and getting the kids ready to do some good fishing.
